This graph is showing data regarding the life expectancy of people in Lancashire, including both males and females.

The graph shows that females are expected to have the longest life expectancy in all areas of Lancashire, and are likely to die at older ages than men.

There is quite a large difference in the life expectancy for the men and women of Lancashire.

Life expectancy at birth in the UK has reached its highest level on record for both males and females. A newborn baby boy could expect to live 77.5 years and a newborn baby girl 81.7 years if mortality rates remain the same as they were in 2006-2008. Life expectancy in Lancashire, as in the UK as a whole, is on the increase, with the gap between male and female life expectancy narrowing. The pace of this convergence is greater in the areas where life expectancy is better, such as Fylde, where the gap has reduced by 1.5 years since 1991-1993, according to Lancashire County Council.

This expected to carry on for years to come.

As part of my second skills test, I had to create google maps for four places featured in articles in the Lancashire Evening Post, both online and in the actual newspaper.  they are each different articles about stories in and around the Preston area.

This is one part of the skills test section of my assignment. This involved taking pictures or the university, cropping them to certain sizes and the posting them on here.  I took pictures of the UCLAN logo on the Roeburn Halls of Residence.

career advice !

Sat minding my own business at Preston station waiting to go home after lecture! Total stranger comes over an sits down at my table where i am trying to read my Closer magazine in peace.  He then begins to tell me he started a new job two days earlier working for a charity , and patrols the streets trying to get people to donate.  He tells me he needs advice (from a total stranger?!) on whether to pack it all in an go an work for his mum's catering company, or to stay on.  Why dont you like it? I asked.

I get pasties thrown at me, he replied.  He then tells me how passers-by throw Gregg's at him an spit on him and he repeatedly gets sworn at.  he also told me he 'didnt even like charity.'

I didnt really know exactly what to say seen as I had only met him 2 minutes earlier.

He got on his train eventually after trying to read my magazine and numerous phone calls to his mother about leaving  the job.

I think he was in the wrong job.
